New Meal of the Week: Paleo Quinoa Porridge

Good for: An energy-boosting – but far from heavy – breakfast.

Tastes: Light, sweet, fruity, and filling.

Packed with: Antioxidants, iron, fiber, protein.

Perfect for: Paleo eaters.

Eating paleo is all about refreshing your diet and sticking to the natural foods we were meant to consume for energy. That being said, we were totally meant to eat this paleo quinoa porridge.

Unlike traditional porridge, which is made from oatmeal, our chefs made this dish completely seed-based, using quinoa, chia seeds, and flax seed so you get all their antioxidant and omega-3 benefits.

Contrary to what it might seem, quinoa is a seed, not a grain. It contains no gluten, and is packed with manganese (an antioxidant), fiber, magnesium, B vitamins, and iron. It’s also considered a “complete protein” since it contains all nine essential amino acids.

  • Protein: 14 g

Looking for an alternative to our savory egg breakfasts? This paleo porridge is seed-based, made with quinoa, chia seeds and flaxseed, which are folded into creamy coconut milk, sweetened with a touch of maple syrup, and topped with roasted apples and nutty pecans. Pack in your protein, indulge that sweet tooth, and feel perfectly satisfied!
