New Meal of the Week: Paleo Beef Chili

Paleo Beef Chili

This week at Freshly, we’re excited to be launching a chili that’s made especially for all of our paleo-adhering friends out there.

As you probably know, traditional chili is often chock full of beans (which are often regarded as a non-paleo ingredient), so we packed ours with a big serving of veggies for texture instead. Think carrots, red bell peppers, and onions, all simmering in a hearty ancho chili sauce. Altogether, this meal’s net carb count is 11 grams, making it one of our favorite low-carb options on the menu. Net carbs are the total amount of carbs in a food minus the carb content from fiber, and we think it’s a more accurate way of measuring carbs since our bodies don’t digest fiber. Net carbs can give a better picture of the amount of carbs that will affect your body’s blood glucose levels. Our chili also lugs a solid 18 grams of protein – a great chunk of your daily recommended amount of 46-56 grams (depending on your body weight.) Try it on our menu here.
